and whilst photographing that going on , the bus I've been trying to photograph for ages pulled up behind me! Marky got a great shot of it from Byrom St recently. couldn't believe my luck...after weeks of it being obscured by cars people and trees a lovely clear view.

Here's what's going on by me in Fazakerley. They have picked the worst time to do this tree chopping because as you know the birds are still nesting and feeding young. Talking to some of the workmen and I found that none of them are clued up in anyway on our feathered friends :PDT_Xtremez_42:
Why do this now?

I agree, how can they have the face to DO that job and not be clued up on the environment they are setting to and destroying? I think someone should have a word in the councils ear :protest:

Well I have reported "the vandalism" they have done. Am waiting on a reply from the council. They even cut down a tree with a Tawny Owl nest in which had 2 chicks.
You would think a gang of hoodies had a chainsaw for the day cutting down little trees and shrubs.:PDT_Xtremez_42:
I live opposite a Altcourse Prison which we never could see from our house. Now we can see it and hear the lags of a night shouting plus we now have the visitors parking near my house now they can see "a good parking place".
I can't wait to see the person who gave the orders!!!!!

And here's what they left us.
A DISGRACE!!!
Why would we want to see the prison and a bus stop??

I think these idiots should be exposed in the national press.

The fact of the owl’s nest being destroyed is an utter disgrace and shows the level of contempt these people who are supposed to be in charge of running the city have for the general public.

If it had happened in Calderstones Park the Echo would have had it on the front page.

That's awful :(

You are right Samp - it would probably be high lighted in any other areas.

they should be reported to the RSPB for a kick off. you were quite well sheltered there from what I remember, that new view is awful.

Imagine if that had happened in Childwall or Gateacre for example, we'd never hear the last of it.

you should send those pics to the Echo

Guess what.? I phoned the council who said they will get the "tree surgeon" to call me. He did. Oh my god the guy was an utter idiot. I asked him "Who checked there where no birds nesting in the trees/shrubs you cut down".?
"The Lads" he replied. "Are any of them bird watchers and do you know the size of a goldfinches nest, woodpeckers, robin's "? "No" was the reply.
He then said very stupidly "and we're gonna cut more down" . He then put the phone down on me. Intelligence not showing!!!!!
I have since rang our local mp and along with some neighbours am awaiting a reply . This can't go on. They left big logs for over 2 weeks that kids started to push into the main road. They have left big logs on a field which used to get mowed on a regular basis. Now they can't because of the logs left:PDT_Xtremez_42:
