1 June.
The old Dock designed and built by Thomas Steers between 1709 and 1715.

Excellent Phil, I forgot it was June lol.
Could you see a lot of it?

Excellent Phil, I forgot it was June lol.
Could you see a lot of it?
Not really, Kev.
The glass is only about 2 feet wide and you have to move around to get a better idea of the layout.
I think the idea was to show the full height of it.
What we can see is the NE corner (I think!).
The Hilton Hotel is on a lot of the site of the old dock.

That's the first very good picture I have seen of the old dock viewing window. Well done indeedy, PG.

at least they have had the foresight to allow us to glimpse even a bit of it.
most constructors would have covered it completely.
it's really tough to see it during the day as the light reflects off the glass and all you can see are the reflections of the people looking down.
It also looks like the view of the moon from the sapce shuttle up in space!

qg.
There are still reflections to avoid.
Most noticeably, the strip lights from John Lewis.
ADW.
Thanks, but it's early days yet!
Kev.
I thought it has an outer space look, too.
I almost posted this shot.

I think it was Saturday that I noticed it for the first time.
Now that I can stay on the bus past Lewis's I haven't had a chance to snap it, and I hadn't seen it from that viewpoint.

What magnification is the H9?
My H2 was 12, but it died on me, so I got the H3 which is 'only' 10.

It's 15 times optical magnification with a Carl Zeiss lens, Philip. The model has been superseded by the H50 which has a slightly updated spec but not that you'd notice.

Nice clear pic, I remember st chads was off the roundabout by the college on cherryfield drive, how come there is so much greenery around it that looks uncared for, you'd think they'd keep it better, what a waste, looks like good ground that could be turned into allotments or church gardens
