Has anyone tried Rolfing Structural Integration. I have suffered with a bad back for many years and don't wont to go on stronger pain medication. I seen an article in a paper about it saying that it could help. It looks similar to osteopathy. If some one has had first hand experience with it please let me know.

Hi, fellow newbie! I did a course of rolfing (in Germany, where I live) about a year ago because I was getting recurring tennis elbow-type problems - "mouse arm", basically, from spending too much time typing at the computer. I was pretty sceptical about how a bit of pummelling would solve the problem, but after 10 sessions of being shoved around, stretched etc. I really did feel a difference in posture and general health and haven't had any recurrence of the problem since, despite spending as much or even more time bashing away at the keyboard. The effects are said to last for "a good while" - whatever that means, probably a couple of years - and if the problem comes back I was advised to do just a couple of sessions again to realign everything. It would certainly be worth a try for you if you don't want to up the medication. Not cheap (or not over here, anyway), but it definitely worked for me. Good luck, and keep us posted about how things work out.
