View Full Version : Did Everton ever sign up for the Intertoto Cup? SteH 04-20-2008, 08:56 PM Just wondering like, given they've got in form Villa next week who are just three points behind, then Arsenal the week after :unibrow: Gnomie 04-21-2008, 06:11 AM Even with an injured squad we wont need it :) Paul D 05-12-2008, 03:09 PM Even with an injured squad we wont need it :) ;) Ged 05-12-2008, 03:56 PM Aye, no doubting Thomas' here ;) In form Villa ended up losing at home to Wigan then drawing at West Ham. :) scouse mouse 05-12-2008, 07:08 PM Aye, no doubting Thomas' here ;) In form Villa ended up losing at home to Wigan then drawing at West Ham. :) Everton kinda backed in too didn't they Ged? Last 8 games, won 2, drew 2, lost 4. disco 05-12-2008, 08:09 PM Well scouse mouse not all of us have got 200 million to spend just to get 4th place Ged 05-12-2008, 08:24 PM And not all of us lost 3 players to the African nations cup and then when they were back, 3 players to long term injury, even Johnson didn't make the final game, the story of our season. Mind you we got THAT penalty that possibly wasn't but that didn't matter in the end anyway. Pity we didn't get some when it did matter though. Blueged 05-12-2008, 08:59 PM We came top of our league. They were bottom of theirs. scouse mouse 05-13-2008, 06:42 AM Well scouse mouse not all of us have got 200 million to spend just to get 4th place And not all of us lost 3 players to the African nations cup and then when they were back, 3 players to long term injury, even Johnson didn't make the final game, the story of our season. Keep your hair on girls, just pointing out that the battle for 5th place turned into a bit of a comedy of errors. Ged 05-13-2008, 09:24 AM No excuses at all - reasons - what's yours? Since the inter toto remark was made above - we added more daylight between ourselves and Villa - hey, just like Arsenal did with yourselves in fact. So yes I agree, Villa (and Man City and Spurs who spent more than us), are a bit of a comedy of errors - well done. shoney 05-13-2008, 12:53 PM I think everton can put a line under their acheivments this year in the respect of outlay and league acheivment, as a success, I don't think liverpool can, that was a lot of money on players and ongoing contracts, they will have to look hard at themselves to justify it, especially with the transfer window coming up and more signings needed to improve and with all the harmony in the boardroom. Ged 05-13-2008, 01:18 PM How true is it that Ambramovich has made a £40M for Torres today. Could be good business, if you can't win anything with a 30+ goalscorer, what chance of you got - remember Lineker. We won the league without his 40 goals either side of his 1 season with us. shoney 05-13-2008, 01:27 PM How true is it that Ambramovich has made a £40M for Torres today. Could be good business, if you can't win anything with a 30+ goalscorer, what chance of you got - remember Lineker. We won the league without his 40 goals either side of his 1 season with us. gotta admit , torres was brilliant, i saw him score goals that no-one would have put away, however this indicates that a massive part of the side was hiding and riding his success , i don't think they were really a team this year at all, take him ot of the pic and they were blackburn or portsmouth, i here someone has tabled a 40m offer for him, cjhelsea / utd, i dunno waiting on details scouse mouse 05-13-2008, 04:58 PM No excuses at all - reasons - what's yours? Excuse/reason? Obviously the 2 losses against manu were huge, especially since we were so unfortunate in the game at Anfield, but what really killed our season was the 13 draws, most of which we totally dominated. Since the inter toto remark was made above - we added more daylight between ourselves and Villa - hey, just like Arsenal did with yourselves in fact. In the last month in the league we've won 3 and tied 1, Arsenal have won 3 and lost 1. How true is it that Ambramovich has made a £40M for Torres today. Could be good business, Sorry mate, but we ain't a "selling club". And although Torres might not be posing in a "once a red always a red" t-shirt I have a feeling that he'll show more loyalty to his club than "you know who". gotta admit , torres was brilliant, i saw him score goals that no-one would have put away, however this indicates that a massive part of the side was hiding and riding his success Torres was immense this season Shoney, but we scored 119 goals and Torres scored 32 of them. A spectacular season for him though, and feck knows were we would have been without him, but then again, where would manu have been without Ronaldo? Gnomie 05-13-2008, 05:39 PM Im Glad we sold Rooney, we got better Torres is very good, as i have said i watched him when he was at Atletico, very very good player. Mind you im pleased with the Yak, and Lescott, what a player :handclap: Seasons over, time to talk about how rubbish England are, and that the Euro Championships are coming with nobody to cheer. My Great Grandad is Swedish, can i support them :PDT_Aliboronz_24: Have a rest , then we can get back to business in August:unibrow: To be honest i will miss this thread-August is a long way off. Ged 05-14-2008, 12:27 PM Aye and the money still rolls in from the sale of Rooney thanks to Utd winning the prem and getting to the CL final, let's hope they win it now so we can get some more dosh. Jags for England as well - wahaaaay.
