Brill picture Kev, he looks like he was a fun guy. Kev 02-13-2008, 05:25 PM He was a fun guy deffo, the type that would have u in stitches at weddings and funerals. :disgust: There's a bit of him in my youngest lad I reckon. When he died [of a stroke], the bobbies from the Garston Police Station stood on the corners of the roads that led up to The Crem in Springwood as a mark of respect. chippie 02-27-2008, 12:13 PM I went to a moving service when I was back in the mod. It was out in the sticks somewhere at a quaint little church and it was an ex soldier colleague. The regiment was there and they played the last post and the buddies carried the coffin to the altar and out again. There was something really spooky in many peoples hearts that moment. Gnomie 03-25-2008, 01:58 PM http://h1.ripway.com/andalucia/dad.jpg My Dad Bernie, who would have been 70 today(25th March) Dont ask about the cravat, I have no idea why he wore it? I still have it in my house. This photo was taken at his 60th Birthday party in his favourite boozer, The Vauxhall Vaults. always a great laugh, Happy birthday Dad. Did your dad live near Vauxy? Hi Ged My Nan and Grandad lived in St Martins cottages when they married. My dad was born there. When my grandad was killed in ww2 my dad and his mam moved in with her mum in Kew street, Near St Anthony`s church. My dad went to St Anthonys school until he was 12. Then he moved to the Dingle in King Gardens. My great Grandma who had lived near St Joeys, moved to Silvester street and lived there until she died in 1978 aged 94. many others in the area too. She only started as second girl on the handcart when she retired from work at 65. this job lasted for quite a few years before her mate retired. Hannah and me mam Polly were quite well known in Greaty. Cadfael 03-25-2008, 06:22 PM My Great Nan. She lived to the ripe old age of 92 and we used to journey to Kirkby once a week as that's where they put lots of the overspill outside Liverpool. She then came closer to home to a nursing home in Huyton and I remember her very well. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg72/cadfael2008/IMG_0012.jpg John(Zappa) 03-25-2008, 07:35 PM My Wonderful Amazing Mother.xxxx http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa113/itsazappathing/muminher20slookingfab.jpg Ged 03-25-2008, 09:30 PM Great pics folks.
