Just rest in peace my trusted friend for you've seen me through this rough winter. Not a day passed on that rugged rasping hill that you were not there to protect me from the razor sharp stones that littered the path we walked together. Many's a day we came back from that hill looking a lot worse for wear but come the morning you where always there and ready for another climb.
Now rest in peace my loyal friend your job undertook with pride. Your firm support I relied upon as I made each lengthy stride. As we see the first signs of Spring I'll lay you low and miss your comfort and warmth to replace you now I couldn't face, I'll leave it for a while.
Now rest in peace my loyal friend your journey has reached it's end. Today I'll climb the hillside in trainers that will flex and bend.
