Thats fantastic Kev, it sure is a long hard road to get a forum off the ground. The Preston site has 104 members with maybe only 10 of them currently active, so if you could pass any tips on on how to attract more active members, I'll be all ears.

Where do I begin? A long and hard road I will agree and ceratinly longer standing members will remember the days of the old forum (http://scouseproud.proboards7.com/index.cgi?board=Buildings) a couple of years ago.

Recruiting active members is very hard if you are a new forum. Anyone can register but keeping them interested and contributing is the tricky bit.

It won't happen over night. Try submitting the site to the major search engines etc...Become a member of similar sites and get your site onto other sites so people can look at it, stuff like that.

Thank for the thread. I've often wondered why I receive so many posts. Just realised that by typing in "Liverpool images" in www.google.com shows my site is top of the shop out of 8,360,000 results, and also top if you google "Liverpool photographs" where it's top out of 2,310,000.

Can you monitor to see how many go to your site from mine? I use statcounter. I don't want to brag (yeah sure!), but I get around 4000 hits a day, round 1400 unique.
