Took a train ride to Blackpool with my sidekick to see the Riverdance Ferry
wreck today,it`s nearer Cleveleys than Blackpool I found out after a long walk.
She`s lying full on her side now with a very old wreck in front of her.
You are not able to go within 3 to 400 yards of her.
I could see the snow on the lake district fells from there.

High dry and knackered. Unloading the ferry Riverdance before they try to move her.

Wow, great pictures. Think i'll go and have a look myself. I wonder why it is written off though. Didn't they manage to refloat and re-badge the Herald of Free enterprise? Maybe its just mashed inside.

In my honest opinion they have left it to late. She now lays flat on her side now. I am not sure if we have the equipment in this country to right her on the beach and whether we have the stuff to lift her when the tide is at it`s highest from the sea.
Every day that passes she will be sinking more and more into the sand.
They could leave her as a holiday attraction, but I they will scrap her as I think she is nearing the end of her working life.
If anbody is going to see her,she is nearer Cleaveleys than Blackpol which I found out to mycost on tuesday. Zoom lens or tele lens are needed for pics.
My first pic is an ordinary shot the second is from the seawall with a 6 x zoom
then a 1/4 of the pic blown up

Good pics Philip. You can see the way it has moved from our pics take on different days, so I`m afraid it`s the end of the line for her as she`s not a youngster anymore.
