I have 3 local history books specifically about Bootle, but there's no info in there.
went out at tea time and took these...

first lot all 'little' Gray St - no idea why little, as it's longer than the bit the other side of Knowsley Rd

these are the 2 most obvious ex-shops

half way up there are houses missing , bombed during the war. A shop may have been here...

other side of Knowsley looking towards Peel Rd. no obvious signs of a shop along here. there is a swathe of old houses missing, again bombed during the war.

if I spot any v old residents I'll quiz them, see if they lived around there at the time the shops were in use.

hope that's of some interest to you

you're very welcome. I can see Gray Street from my front door, so it was no bother really.

Hiya Quincy I spoke to my friend about the pictures and he replied

The shop as I believe it is still open called 'Lesley's' and apparently has graffitti on the wall by someone called Rachel. The significance of this is that my mate - surname Marriott- used to live there when a child. His wife is called Lesley and his daughter's name is Rachel - - wierd coincidence !

do you know what shop he is talking about?

Hope that makes things a bit clearer
