Award for Wombats single

LIVERPOOL band The Wombats scooped a prize at the Shockwaves NME music awards last night.
The indie trio won the Best Dancefloor Filler prize for their single, Let’s Dance To Joy Division.
It marks another triumph for the band which helped to launch Liverpool’s Capital of Culture year at St George’s Hall and the Echo Arena. The awards were held at the IndigO2 venue inside London’s O2 Arena last night.
Other winners included Arctic Monkeys – for Best British Band, Best Track for Fluorescent Adolescence and Best Video for Teddy Picker. Manic Street Preachers received the Godlike Genius award.
