Anyone feel this is a wasted oppurtunity with what could have been a brilliant album? I don't begrudge the likes of Atomic Kitten on the album but it seems to be basically a Beatles album. A couple of good versions on there but if they dropped the number 1 from the title and explored more we can have seen more of the indie scene that came from Liverpool. Some great bands missed were The Las, Cast, Space, Icicle Works, Echo and The Bunnymen, Flock Of Seagulls and Boo Radleys to name a few.:snf (41):

Yes, I think there could have been a No.1 album with the load more spread, ie. Less Beatles numbers but also a seperate compilation album of the original artists featuring many of the acts that didn't get No.1

This is it, again The Beatles helped put Liverpool on the map but so other many great artist get overlooked for the sake of songs everyone knows. They should have pitched the idea to the indie scene in Liverpool who could've made a far more interesting album i.e. songs and their interpretation.
