View Full Version : Sun Glasses

It's so bright today I've had to pull on my sun glasses before going for a walk up the hill. The blueness of the sky is like something I last seen in Tunisia back when it was summer time. The sky looks very similar but the temperatures are poles apart. The woolly hat still comes along until I get up a good head of steam and need to let the excess heat vent through my personal solar panel of a haircut.

There was only the very faintest breeze but it carried the evidence that a local farmer has taken advantage of the early morning frost to get out early with his muck spreader and give the pasture a generous coating. I thought to myself that's why they call it fresh country air. It would put hair on your lungs it is so lingering. Funny how the days when the wind doesn't blow your head off are the very days you would love to have the wind blowing again.

The scent has really messed up Toby's hunting mode and even through he has his nose firmly pressed into the hedgerow he hasn't discovered any furry or feathered friends so far.

The sheep in the meadow look very heavy and struggle to move around. They will be glad when their lambs finally come and they can once more have a spring in their step. I spotted one ewe who had laid down and had managed to get herself into trouble as the weight in her belly had her pinned down with her legs flailing in the air. I found a gap in the ditch and secured Toby before going into the field. She didn't seem very happy to see me coming to her assistance and kicked out even more the closer I came. I grabbed a few handfuls of wool and a swift tug had her feet back under her and she was up and away.

She never even said thank you.
