I have to admit that I get a very selfish pleasure in given to others. Strange I think. I'll give an example that today we were talking about what to do with our son's hamster that he no longer wants as a pet. We decided to call into a pet shop in the hope that they would be prepared to take the wee critter from us and sell it to someone else.
At least that way the animal would be going to another home that wanted him.
As we entered the big pet shop I spotted a couple by the hamster display area and rather than speaking to the staff I went over to them. I heard them discussing hamsters and just asked them did they plan to buy one? When they said they had 4 young kids who had been pleading for a hamster since Christmas. I said I would give them one with all the things they needed to look after it and you should have seen their eyes light up. The poor assistant who was in the process of selling them a fortunes worth of bits and pieces as well as the hamster had just lost a sale.
The couple followed us home and they went away so delighted at their new pet and she was on the phone to tell her 8 year old daughter who's birthday was tomorrow that they were coming home with a surprise for them.
Let's hope the guy pulling out tonight's lottery feels as generous when he's picking MY numbers. :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
