*"Don't Forget Boys! 'One Evertonian Is Worth Twenty Liverpudlians'"
Everton legend Brian Labone.
Thats what they say when they see all the empty spaces in the ground.
Well for a team winning so much, I wonder why a mayday bank holiday game against Boro saw my squinting as the sun reflected off all those empty red seats, Oh I see, yes, it was live on sky (and most of the Kopites were enjoying a BBQ in Norway)

Well for a team having its best season in Yonks ( League Cup Semi Finals 4th in Prem for now and still in the UEFA ), having an average gate of 36,000 shows why your club try to give free season tickets away with every mobile phone.

kevin 01-30-2008, 12:40 PM I know it's just friendly banter, but why do people have to big themselves up by doing somebody else down?
I think it's great that our city can boast two such teams and, by and large, get on with one another.

that's what I say Kevin. :)
I used to think Everton & Liverpool all got on ok - but it makes me wonder now I have a son who is into football, I get to hear some of the talk.  Trying to reason just doesn't work and ends up in a strop !!
We should be glad we have two great teams to be proud of.
I do understand that it is football banter - but the opposing sides do get a bit insulting don't they !!

ps,
I don't mean you Ged and Asbo, or Scousemouse - or any of our footyfans - I just mean football fans in general are so bitter about each other. tut ! tut!

Oy, I heard you the first time lindy :)
We must remember, they are the 'mighty reds', what would the attendances be if nothing was won in years - zilch.

Haha sorry Ged nothing won in years is the Blue team of the City (while there still in it that is)
Liverpool have won every Cup going in the last 6 Years, and just need the League to complete the set.
Should rename Goodison 'The No Peoples Turn up Club' :PDT11

Lindy this is just all fun, what I'm saying (same as Ged) is what I say to my Blue best mates in the pub every time we sit down with a pint, thats why we can reply so quickly.
Me and my mates go through the same routine every time we go out, and our wives go "Oh %^&$^ not AGAIN!!!!"

That's what i'm saying Asbo, if you'd won as less as Everton in the last 10 years, you'd be building a stadium with a 20,000 capacity to save money ;)
Having an allegiance to a decent cup team is a no brainer, all the bandwaggoners would be off to support FC Oslo or Kernow Utd if the wheels fell off.

Newcastle Sunderland won sod all for years (even longer than Everton) but they both got more support than the peoples club.
Aston Villa and Manchester City likewise and you can't even trot out the 'but those teams only have 1 in the city' line concerning Villa and Man City.
Some clubs have loyal fans, some clubs have empty seats.
'The Peoples Club' is part of the latter, what a joke of a name, write it in BIG LETTERS on the stadium, but the figures speak for themselves 36000 average gate in your best season in years!
You can fool some of the people etc etc etc.
If Liverpools full of Evertonians.... none of them go the Match!

Newcastle and Sunderland are one team cities didn't yer know ;)
36,000 average isn't no supporters but we all know half of yours are from Scandinavia and Ireland which is why they cancelled a match not that long ago when JLA was fogbound.
My office is full of kopites that don't go the match yet the Bluenoses do - funny that.
And anyway, your secret is out.

And here's one of your typical supporters, which is why, as i've told you, all the locals are on that great big list. Ha ha ha......

Everton don't get any outside fans because no-one in Europe can remember them.

I'm a blue and so is my eldest. My wife is a red and so is my youngest.
Divided household.
It's exactly the same with my brothers and sisters.
