Hi all
I was online last night on the laptop, and all of a sudden the page wouldn't load.
I tried to go onto another site and it said I had lost my internet connection.
I use a wireless router and have never had any probs before.
I just thought it was because of some blip somewhere, and I turned it all off and forgot about it.
I tried again today and it's still the same.
I think the problem is with the laptop wireless adapter which is inbuilt.
The router has no problems coming on, and the lights are showing as connected.
The LAN card on my laptop is crossed out on my desktop and I can't activate it.
I am using ethernet as the mo.
Any ideas?!
I'm lost with wireless stuff, sorry and hope it gets sorted soon.

what you need to do on the laptop is run the wireless setup prog
and enter the correct password to access your router, also do a
network search so that the laptop can find any wireless nets
Who's your connection with? Mine's Orange - formerly Wanadoo, I never had any trouble at all with them, then when Orange took them over I started having all sorts of headaches. The livebox (wireless router) cuts out regularly, to get my connection back I have to unplug my USB wireless adaptor, leave it a few secs then plug it back in.
Mine's tied into my mobile phone contract which runs out in March so I'll be going elsewhere when that's out the way

Sorry to hear about your wireless router problems. I'm afraid it's a common enough problem of them effectively freezing and no signal is transmitted. It happens to me quite regularly !!! The simplest solution is to unplug the router power suppy for a few seconds and then reconnect. Works everytime for me. Really speaking, most of these routers are built down to a price, so it's not surprising they can be temperamental.

TBH The best options are to firstly reset the router - Most have a reset button, or simply remove the power for a minute.
Secondly disable then re-enable the network card from Control panel>system>device manager and right click the Network card to disable then again to re-enable.
