Huyton has streets off Bluebell lane named with a ww2 theme

A new council estate at Huyton was fenced off by eight-foot high barbed wire and turned into one of the largest internment camps. Some of the interned occupied themselves by lecturing and performing, hence the camp became known as Huyton University.

After the war the estate took ww2 themed names, some are listed below.

Salerno Drive, Mongomery Road, North Atlantic Close, Anzio Road, Arnhem Road, Rome Close, Normandy Road, Malta Close, Cassino Road.
