The front of the building which overlooks what would have been the main driveway to the house is the oldest section of the building which dates from 1575 along with the outbuildings which are situated to the rear and the central courtyard. The other two sections where added later, I think by the victorians who built them to match the original house.

Yes! You can see the later victorian/georgian addition to the upper left of the picture.

There are at least 4 stages of building still visible. The section on the left of that photo is the Georgian bit, At the bottom of the photo and to the right if you could see it is the victorian bit, The bit at the back in the middle of the pic is the oldest part (Elizabethan type window can be seen above the darker victorian bit. Not visible is later and main frontage where the shop is now. This is the Edwardian bit. Absolutely love this building and all of the extensions and remodelling just add to its character |
