View Full Version : Black Clouds

I was awoke from my nap by their sound
Cawing and calling as they spiral above
Twisting and turning filling the sky
Impossible to count in that mass
The skeleton tree stark in the evening light
The cloud descends and every branch is covered
But this foliage is just for the night
High up away from the jaws of the vixen
What a feast she would have if she could climb
Come the first light of day or a sudden sound
The closing of a door or the clap of a hand
The black cloud will rise once more

Brilliant but it sound to me like something out of Alfred Hitcock's > The birds > Scary movie was that.

I know exactly what you mean Steven but this cloud looks more terrifying that Hitcock's. There must be thousands of the buggers.

As you know, Gerry, I was 'drug' up in France and Ireland.

In France they have a belief that ravens and crows are the souls of dead people.

Magpies are the souls of dead Seamen. So you have to salute them and say

"Aye Aye, Captain"
