It's gone quiet lately

Oh for the battles of old, where's ADW and Lindylou? Personally I miss FKOE a true gent.

Probably everyone is pre-occupied with Christmas preparations.

Every so often we have periods that seem quieter than usual, Christmas time, New Year, the weekends.

It's conceivable that Kev could create a separate area for the games players such as myself so those threads do not overrun the other threads. I will talk to Kev about it.

I dig out a few old photies now and again and post them up hoping for comment or to encourage others, there must be loads out there to be unearthed but it seems some might use this site for their own means, saving photos, research etc but contribute little.

Say what you like about them but Gerard and ScouserDave are posting some marvellous stuff elsewhere but here will always be my first post of call but when it is quiet, I trawl around a bit.

I have heard it said (usually when someone is aggrieved about something) that there is a clique in here. I don't think there is at all. It's just that we have a nucleus of stalwart members who have been here through thick & thin and continue to post. The 'old faithfuls' who have always been here, they pop in frequently and contribute to the forum - and perhaps because it is the same members it might appear to be like a clique.

like you Ged, if I have some spare time and this forum is quiet, I might take a nose at some other forums. None of them have tempted me to join though.
They do not have the same feel to them as this one. Not naming them - but one is very 'male orientated' - the manner in which they talk, and the other is like a battle ground of insults.

The one called Scouse House I won't comment on because it is a closed forum and I have never joined, so i don't know what the content of it is.

Even some other non Liverpool based forums are not as addictive as this one. :)

As a suggestion, could all 'games' related threads - A to Z and name this and name that be contained in a single thread only? That way any new comers who visit the site will see it for what it is, not just a load of A-Z games.

I personally find that when I come on ... Liverpool is sleeping usually, and a few other, fine folk, live in Australia and other parts of this globe are on too.. We find the games relaxing.. a way to get to know others with a little laugh....
YES, some of the games... maybe mine-less to some..but, to others it is just plain fun to interact .. GAMES are to play.. when ya do have a little time to relax..
I try to contribute to some of the forum posts as much as possible.. Or to start a thread sometimes..

Just want to say.. If people are upset..we are playing the fun/games thread.. Why were they put on here in the first place..? People.. just let people have some fun too... ta ra...

I pm'd the following to NakedLilac, but as an afterthought I have posted it for all to read, and hopefully to clear up any misunderstanding:



Although the games are already tucked away in the 'chit chat' section and in a thread of their own. It's when members use the 'Quick links' for 'todays' posts' that all the 'A to Z' lists seem to dominate the board - (because no one is posting much else lately).
People clicking into each individual thread every time find it can be a bit lengthy, and for a quicker update they do it thru' quick links. This is when all the games show up.
The games were probably not as prominent when we had plenty of other subjects being discussed. The forum has been quiet for a few weeks now.
Of course, anyone not wanting to see the games would have to avoid using quick links and just open the threads of their particular interest, therefore bypassing the 'fun & games'

As for my post saying that the games are 'doing my head in ' ... it might have come across as a bit critical - but it's merely a Scouse'ism used for various occasions :D ... and in this case, the games being a tad repetitive of late, I said it jokingly. I am not too bothered about the games, and I do add to some of them myself. There are some I like, and there are some which are a getting to be a little repetitive. The photo challenges are good ones - and I like to contribute when I can find time to add to them. :)



I understand what has been said about people living in other parts of the globe - NL and Jimmy, you are right to say that it is your way to keep in touch with the forum, and you may not have the same opportunity to post other things such as photos or writings on Liverpool.



The trouble lately is that the forum is rather quiet, obviously because of the time of the year, and members are missing some of the more meatier postings. Hopefully the forum will be as busy as ever in the new year with lots more info, news and photos.

Hear, hear Lindy and it's better people being here, just looking in or even just for the games than not at all. Sorry Jimmy or anyone else if you thought what I said came across as a bit arrogant but I sigh when I log on and look at threads and see the last posting was 10 hours or something ago as when I last looked in etc etc. There are plenty of locals who can and do contribute too, it's not an elitist forum like some and you don't have to live here now or even be from here to write about the place or your journey through life.

This Forum may seem quiet, but spare a thought for us newbies!
There are tons of posts to catch up on, in fact i still haven't got to the point of using the "Today's Posts" quick link.
I Preddict that the new Year will see many more visitors/members, maybe even the worlds press will be looking to site's like this for info/pics/views. Things feel to be really on the up for Liverpool at the moment, even our footy teams are doing well :handclap:
