My brother was roped in to his daughter's nativity a few years ago as one half of the donkey, along with another dad from across the road. Afterwards they walked up the road to the pub, still "in situ" as the donkey :unibrow:

Thats a good un Iain about the Donkey.

I went my brother's grandkids nativity play last week and was surprised that no photos or videos were allowed. You have to buy the official one from the school.

I love the Nativity Plays by kids. They are all so innocent and I sit watching them with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. Their wee voices singing is class.

It could be the school trying to make soem money, or it could be a sad indictment of todays society that anything to do with taking pictures of children can lead to people getting labelled the wrong way now. I have had to sign forms at both my sons nursery and school just to allow the teachers to take pictures of them in group activities to show Ofsted for example.

In answer to the start of the thread anyway, my son is a donkey in his, they are doing two performances and I am going to watch him Monday.

Liverpool schools have to enforce this unfortunately, its a child protection issue. I was quickly told to put my camera away last year when trying to snap my son on his own last year, despite there being mums with camera phones snapping away

Everything was coolio this year, no probs taking snaps of my lad.

That's the thing - when our kids get older, there's gonna be no memories for them at school through pictures.

I'm lucky then.
I managed to get video footage of my son when he was a king in the school nativity. There were one or two of us mums & dads with camcorders. We had to stand discretely at the side while we filmed.
I'm lucky to have it then if you can't even take snaps now.

Your right Kevin. I used to work in a nursery and it is a Child Protection Policy that adults cannot photograph other children at school plays etc. Sad.

I missed the nativity this year. Every year since my eldest grandson (24)started school I have managed to watch them and for me that is when Christmas starts. This year my youngest grandchild Emily who is six had to change schools and guess what? no Nativity. I was incensed but went along to see the performance of Jungle Book and it was excellent, blew all of us away with the professionlism the teachers must have worked incredibly hard so "Well done" Millfield School in Eastham Wirral. Hopefully the Nativity will reappear in the future though.

Merry Christmas everyone

Lovely photos Kev:PDT_Piratz_26:

I went to see my daughters school play on Friday, but wasn't allowed to take any photos...the school took photos & are going to sell them
If I buy the photos I will get pictures of all the children rather than just zooming the camera onto my own child
this was taken after the show
