Hi Dutchy, is this the same one that was being developed on SSC a while ago? With Sebo involved?
dutchscouser 05-02-2007, 10:21 AM Yeah thats the one matey.......its been bubbling away in the background but its very much its own entity now!
Excellent, glad its alive and kicking. You've put some hard work into organising it. :PDT11
It's YO for me. Best friendly bunch, very informative and great pics. Occassionally pop onto Scouse House but only cos Springy posts some great pics up. IC Liverpool echo forum is dead too. Scottie press forum hasn't been the same since the guest book was done away with.
lindylou 05-02-2007, 11:58 AM Yer right Ged, this is the best L'pool forum. The others are just not the same.
This is the only one I stuck with.

Paul D 09-14-2007, 05:35 PM A NEW group has been formed in Liverpool to spearhead 21st century architecture to ensure the heritage lobby do not steal all of the limelight.
The aim of the 21st Century Liverpool Society is to promote a new point of view on developments taking place around the city.
One task of the society will be to act as a counter balance to the city’s vocal heritage lobby.
The organisation wants to take a more forward thinking approach towards the progression of the city, at a time when attention is focused on the historic World Heritage Site.
The society is made up of local architects, designers, planners, students and others with a passion for the city, who all share the view that they want to debate moving the city forward.
Co-founder Michael McDonough, an architecture graduate and society trustee, said: “We believe the city should protect its past. However, what we don’t believe is that it should be strangled by it.”
Mr McDonough says he has real enthusiasm about the city and is dedicated to the idea that Liverpool has the potential to become even greater. But he is concerned that planning issues are not given a balanced view because of “uncon-structive and anti-development stances put forward by heritage activists.
He said: “I have always had a great passion for the city of Liverpool and the amazing changes taking place in such a short space of time.”
The group’s aim is to offer new suggestions and ideas for the progression of the city.
Paul D 09-14-2007, 05:39 PM This is what we have needed for a long while, the voice for the people who actually like to see our city develop into a modern metropolis instead of becoming a museum like the heritage lobby are after. If they get their way forget Liverpool Waters and anything remotely like it,this is the way forward, for anyone interested in getting involved contact scouseyuppie on ssc,he may even be on here?
He is Paul :PDT_Piratz_26:

scouseyuppie 12-31-2007, 12:16 AM The following is a design response for the need to think more ambitiously for the future of Liverpool's transport system.
The model illustrates how Edge Lane Station and its immediate disused railway sidings could be redeveloped to service a reopened waterloo and wapping tunnel to create a new Eastern Approach for Local train services and provide a new bus/train/car park and ride and interchange at Edge Hill, creating a transport hub for Liverpool.
With Main Line services already passing through via the Lime St Cutting, introducing Local train network services to the station would allow for greater flexibility and access to all parts of the city.
New and reopened lines to Anfield via the Olive Mount Cord, Services to Canning/china town and Toxteth via a new Metropolitan Line (Wapping Tunnel) and the former Waterloo Tunnel for services and stations at the University and Islington (Central Line) would finally allow for a more cohesive central liverpool and act as a catalyst for investment in key areas of the inner city.
PROJECT
Each platform features a passenger waiting area and external cover for platforms with the design taking its cute from Rail buffers. Each of the platforms are clearly numbered and provide services to Metropolitan, Central and City Lines to Lime St, Liverpool Central, Southport, Manchester, London, Birmingham, Southparkway and all other national and local destinations currently served through the existing fragmented system.
INTERCHANGE
Also featured, and linked by a skywalkway to each platform, is the park and ride/bus interchange providing office/retail space as well as general station amenities.

? LOL
ps Thanks for moving these administrators.
The purpose of these designs and the society is to stimulate debate and, a "what if" attitude which can hopefully influence planning and design strategy for the city.
Libertarian 12-31-2007, 05:07 PM ScouseYuppie I admire your ambition, your imagination and forward thinking attitude for this city. Quite refreshing from some of the provincial views bandied round.
SY, we seriously need someone with your boldness and way of thinking to run this city. I share your ambition and in depth thinking, but I don't have your boldness and drive. If more people thought like you this city would be thinking alot bigger than it currently is. I applaud your way of thinking and the dedication you put in to your ideas.:handclap::PDT11
