Hi Lindy, there was a Brian Shields in our school and I,m the same age as he would have been if he had have lived, must try and see if there is a connection there. Thanks for those two links.

I just thought I,d tell everyone how I signed my greetings cards this year.

"All the very best for Christmas and the Capital of Culture year 2008"

I hope others did it in a similar vein (I,m expecting a jibe from Ged on that comment)

We mustn,t let people forget.

This is an old thread, but thought you should have another look at the paintings by Liverpool artist Braaq.
We've a few on our walls

see first post for link (one no longer working)

Very fine, Lindy. Thanks for reviving this thread. Sad to think that Braaq (Brian Shields) is no longer with us and that he died at the age of only 46 back in 1997. I am age 62 now and I just heard that someone I knew through my history interests has died at age 61. It makes you think of your own mortality. At any rate, I very much appreciate being introduced to Braaq's artwork. Thanks again, Lindy.

By the way you are correct that the first link above doesn't work but I also found this site:

Brian Shields 'Braaq' 1951-1997 (http://www.morphets.co.uk/BrianShieldsBraaq1951-1997.asp)
