Christmas Corals Oct 30 2007
by Alan O'Hare
Hoylake harmony kings The Coral have confirmed a three night stand in Liverpool.
The band will play Liverpool's Carling Academy on December 12, 14 and 15.
Long-rumoured - especially since the Dreaming Of You stars missed out their homestead on a recent UK tour - the gigs have taken on extra significance, with the band re-emerging from a self-imposed exile and finding themselves enjoying a renaissance, thanks to the the delightful single Jacqueline and the Roots & Echoes record.
Big names have been announced as support acts too - with Scottish indie upstarts The View named for the first night and The Twang on the closing date.
Singer James Skelly said: "We wanted to do a Liverpool gig all year, but we thought 'let's save it and make it a proper Christmas party' - it's going to be really good playing a gig in front of the people we care about."
