A NEW police crackdown will see gangs of youths split up and taken home if they hang around the streets of Knowsley.

Dispersal orders will be put in place in Prescot, Whiston, Halewood, Kirkby, Huyton and Stockbridge Village from Monday.

They will run until Wednesday, November 7, covering Mischief Night, Halloween and Bonfire Night – three of the most problematic nights for the emergency services.

The introduction of the Section 30 orders allows officers to move people on if they believe their presence means members of the community are likely to be intimidated, harassed or alarmed.

Any who return can be arrested and under-16s can be taken home to face the music with their parents.

Knowsley council’s cabinet member for community safety and social inclusion Cllr Jackie Harris said: “We have already seen Section 30 orders help drive down crime and anti-social behaviour in previous years and hope that these orders will have a similar effect.”

People wishing to report anti-social behaviour can call a hotline on 0151 443 2000.

I hope this will be enough to stop the recent "Brickings" on Taxis serving Northwood. It seems to be getting bad around St Chads atm.

Having said this, the 410 in Birkenhead seems to be getting egged or tomato-ed at the moment; its that time of year sadly.

Maybe it's diesel they are putting in the soup at the Hornby Hotel, instead of Bromide ?

If you are referring to that 443 number its Knowsley councils anti social behaviour team, 709 6010 is the police non emergency switchboard for that type of situation.

Last Thursday I was driving up Breck Road and there were at least ten policemen by a bus stop with one of those airport metal detectors (wondered why the security queues had got so bad at the airport recently )
Turns out they were looking for fair dodgers and checking passengers for weapons.

Sure, the police has much to do in Britain, because everybody drives on the wrong lane. :)
