Who have you seen that is famous in the city centre?

I saw Jamie Carragher on an empty Mathew Street last year and saw Xabi Alonso on two separate occasions both on Bold Street!

I ran over John Aldridge's foot with my daughters pram in Cavern walks,
I only found out later when my friend told me who he was

Yeah, I've seen Alex Cox too. Saw Linda Bellingham in Smith's in Lime Street station and Mark Addy on Church Street.

I saw Ronny Scott (Spelling) who used to be in that group 'Space' the other day.

I've seen john Bares get a parking ticket on Sir Thomas Street, and Luis Garcia in the Spanish restaurant on North John Street.

I dont live in Liverpool but i did see WOSIE (Rosie) off Coronation Street yesterday walking about ! what a small pretty wee thing she is !

I remember seeing the late Gary Olsen on Mount Pleasant & also Brian Murphy (of George & Mildred and Last of the Summer Wine fame) on Cook Street. I'm not sure but I think both were appearing on the Liverpool stage at the respective times.

funny this thread should come up - 'cos yesterday we saw Ian Rush - twice !
We saw him crossing over Victoria st, then coming back again a few mins later.

My son tried to get a photo on his phone but only managed to get the back of him.

I've seen lots of Brookside actors over the years. Too many to mention.


Don Warrington (of Rising Damp fame) - I served him when I worked in St John's market (1970s). Can't remember what he bought! I worked on a stall selling radios, watches and jewelry.


John Barnes was often to be seen around Anfield where he had a flat ( ages ago).


Ricky Tomlinson used to visit someone a few doors away from me. :)

Don Warrington...Yeah that would have been around the same time my brother seen him in town. Saw Danny De Vito in New York back in 1993 (in FAO Schwartz toyshop) My Dad was running after him to speak to him. I was embarrassed!! But he was a really nice man.

Don Warrington was probably in a play here at that time - maybe the Playhouse or Empire.


Not so long ago, I was at a charity meeting at Alder Hey, and I was sitting next to Denise Walsh (I've mentioned here before).



I've met ken Dodd once or twice as I know his relative.

William Roach (Ken Barlow) opened a new shop where I worked.

Also, when I worked in W H Smith I saw a few famous people at various book signings.

My Brother also saw Mr T when he was here (I think that was back in the mid 90's) and also US actor Yaphet Kotto. Like you say, I think a lot of the actors appear on the theatre here. Saw Gary Wilmot regularly (in M&S).

I saw Chrissy Rogers once (from Brookside) - what a very nice woman she was. I bumped into her in a pub, we were both stood at the bar and i let her go first ! ha ha ! (she didnt buy me a drink though !)

Chrissy Rodgers- Eithne Brown. Saw her in the Atlantic pub on the dock rd - -few years back. She was sitting next to my husband. Yes, she's a nice person.

She gave a song if my memory serves me right.

In the 1980s I had a friend who had a flat in Howard Drive, and I used to tidy the garden.
Simon O'Brien's family home was opposite, and I saw him a couple of times.
BTW, Ladies, his brother Graham is taller and even more handsome!
