Please join Liverpool people young and old for this 9 day Theatre and Performing Arts Festival! This free festival has been organised give as many people as possible the chance to learn about Dingle Community Theatre and how theatre can change, evolve and enhance our lives.
With 17 events covering 7 venues there should be something for everyone to experience: from comedy workshops, to line learning techniques, a Drama for Relaxation workshop and even a creative dance workshop for the kiddies..all free and waiting to meet you! We're here to remind everyone that drama is not just about City Centre theatres and pricey tickets, but can and does help enhance people's lives in so many different ways.

Dingle Community Theatre Festival leaps out from 20th October-28th October 2007... join us for fun, drama and learning as we get together once more.. and this time it's for 9 days!
Saturday 20th October:
Dingle Festival's Inauguration Day - Toxteth Town Hall www.toxtethtownhall.org.uk/
12:30pm - Join Merseyside Dance Initiative http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/2550/mdigg5.gifhttp://www.merseysidedance.co.uk/
for an inspiring start to the week and celebration of Black History Month.
1pm - Louise Ellman, MP for Riverside, Cuts the Ribbon at the beginning of our first week long festival.
1:30pm - http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/7254/bellydancedj2.jpgPaula Ishtar showcases her talent with a performance the ancient art of belly dancing, with a chance to join her free workshop on Tuesday.
2pm - http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/6518/collectiveaz6.jpgstars of the recent Cream Launch Event, and now dancing out there to entertain us all and breathe new life into the physical arts scene perform for us their piece 'Migration', followed by a Q&A session about their work and the creative arts scene in Liverpool.
3pm - Perform L8, Dingle Community Theatre's youth group, end our first day of interactive entertainment with 'Sugar Love' a piece by Michelle from local Health Project Heal8.

Sunday 21st October: 'Casting For Page to Stage Plays':
Open auditions to be held at The Charles Dickens Centre http://www.multimap.com/maps/?hloc=GB|OX27%207SL#t=l &map=53.38343,-2.96031|16|4 &loc=GB:53.38344:-2.96031:16|L8 4Xh|L8 4XH from 7:30pm onwards, for parts in the 10minute plays which are to be performed on the following Saturday at Mount Carmel. Come along and see if you could be a future 'Best Actor' Oscar winner!
Monday 22nd October:'Line and Memory Learning Techniques'
7:30pm The Casa : Richard Gardiner performs his workshop on perfecting ways to learn your lines for performance on the stage. Using a script in hand from the 10minute plays submitted for the festival, and utilising his 25year experience as an acto and director, Richard will use techniques used by World Memory Experts to deliver a mind-opening evening to hone your memory skills.
Tuesday 23rd October: 'Writing, Playing and Dancing Round Dingle'

10am - Join Patrick for this free 25 place 'Write It Play It Say It' children's workshop.
12pm - Merseyside Dance Initiative offer a free 25 place African dance workshop for children from 5 to 12
2pm - Paula Ishtar offers her free 30 place workshop in bellydancing for all!

Dingle Community Theatre's L8 Perform Youth Theatre Group meet Positive Impact, another local youth drama group, to hear some tips and hints on how they've nurtured their dramatic talent in Toxteth and what the big stage is like. All are welcome, if you haven't had experience of drama before please come and join us to learn how you could enjoy fun and creativity in youth theatre!
Thursday 25th October:
'Collective Creates - Drama for Relaxation - Sea Tales and Shanty Songs'
Granby Adult Learning Centre,
9am - Collective come together for a free creative workshop for local children, looking at the ways dance and art can be merged in a fun and accessible way..kids bring along the adults, and adults, bring along the kids!
11am - Marie Higham takes us on a Drama for Relaxation journey to wind down the week in this open and free workshop for all.
2pm .'Sea Tales and Shanty Songs': Listen to the tale of an interesting local character and his long life in Liverpool, with a break for a little music cheese and wine.
Friday 26th October: 'It's a Mock Out!'

The comedy gloves are on in this heavyweight battle of wits, and it promises to be a real ho-ho-showdown! Edinburgh Fringe Festival
performers MuckComedy and Quipping stalwarts go toe to toe in 'The Ding-Dong in the Dingle'.
From 5pm until 8pm they will take us through a few essential stand up comedy technique tips ..but come 8pm, while the real boxers cool down after training...young contenders MuckComedy will go for the jocular in a real live boxing ring for the Undisputed Heavyweight Comedy Clown - I mean - Crown. It's a gag - tag team event which is guaranteed to pack many a punchline.
Will there be a Mockout or will it go the distance.? Who will be crowned Jape LaMotta, Prank Bruno ....and who will be left the Queensbury
Fools! Nibbles and beer available if you're lucky!
Saturday 27th October:
'Theatre in the Belve!'
Join Dingle Community Theatre from 11am for their Penultimate day as the week draws to a happy close. Hoping for fresh smoothies from SquashNutrition and a fun way of learning how to make healthy drinks!
2-4pm PacoLocker's FaceMask making workshop in the Training Room uses the crisp packets you would normally throw away in a clever creative workshop for kids and adults alike, as they prepare for the afternoon's performance...
2-4pm Paul McNally performs a free sound and lighting for the stage workshop which all are welcome to attend in the Belvidere Community Room, as we light up the stage for our meeting with the kiddies at:
4pm for their star performance with their newly made masks, as local children perform for us a little show about their day!
Sunday 28th October: 'From Page to Stage'

8pm Join actors new and old for Dingle Community Theatre's final showcase for festival '07 as they perform 5 new and local writer's pieces on stage following their 3 hour micro Direction by 5 local directors in our popular Page to Stage evening...
Roll up and roll home for our fun final night..
There should be a little something for everyone here and we look forward to seeing you at Dingle's First Ever 9 Day Theatre Festival!
