Wow! You're a friendly lot for sure on here. Nice change from the footy sites where the cynics seem to prevail.

Fact is, i'm not a scouser myself , but have a great affinity for Liverpool folks. My dad worked in New York in the 50s, and he tells me it was mostly Dubs and lads from the Pool. He also used to travel over from Dublin to see Everton back in the 40s. If I had a pound for every time i've heard the tale of how the Republic beat England at goodison in 49.....

I bump into Liverpool lads now and then in New York, mostly in Nevada Smiths to watch the footy and drink Guinness at 8 in the morning. Last time Liverpool played manure, I was the only one that knew all the words to you'll never walk alone. Getting old I suppose.

Bit of a ramble this, but please indulge me. I'm away from home(Dublin) for 24 years now. You can reach a point where you dont know where you're from. Cheers to all the Liverudlians. Best people going. Along with Dubs that is.

My little 2yrs old neice will soon be off to Sloan Kettering in New York for her cancer treatment ,

A good pal of mine at work just finished his treatment for cancer at Sloan Kettering, and is running the New York marathon in November. Good luck and God bless! Sean.

Ahh Thanks for that Sean , Apparently it's the best , but boy has it come at a cost , We've managed to raise the £200.000 needed for her treatment , were waiting on the outcome of her scan here in uk which she goes for on Wed . depending on those results , will determine the next step .

It is the best, and enjoys a world wide reputation as the premier treatment location. Its a shame economic factors complicate an already difficult time for everyone involved. When I ran the marathon myself, there were always people using it as a fund raising vehicle. Something to keep in mind maybe. Regards. Sean.
