I first discovered the Liverbird plaque face down in the Sailors' Home site in Canning Place, we did not dare touch it until 2004 when the site was being prepared for the 'Paradise Project' even then it was nearly stolen the day before the big move and it was only the actions of contractors from Laing O'Rourke, who spotted that the plaque had been moved and had it taken to the archeological team that ensured we can see it today.
