I think we will do it as long as we play our game.

C`mon the Blues :PDT11:PDT_Piratz_26:

Hear hear - keep the faith.

A more structured 4-4-2. Patience and get at their back 4. One of whom is missing as he likes giving penalties away (but that doesn't mean they've now only got a back 3)

It may sound alarmist, but I think tonoght is the end of our season if we go out. We won't make a Champions League place and we'll compete for a UEFA Cup place next season, but what's the point if we end up blowing it against a team who (admit it) no-one had heard of. I was made up to draw a team I'd never heard of as I assumed we were a certainty of getting to the group stage.

We need the players to earn their wages tonight. If they can't motiviate themselves tonight, then what's the point?

Come on Blues.

3-2 to the blues :PDT_Aliboronz_24:

The first half they never really created anything but in the second half I thought they had a great game.I thought both teams were a bit dodgy in defence but I'll take the win.:p

Some big names in there: Bayern Munich, Galatasaray, Hamburg, Fiorentina, Athletico Madrid, Villareal, Panathinaikos, Bayer Leverkusen, AEK Athens etc but that's what it's all about.

There's just no making it out at the moment. Lyon are top of the French league and crash out 0-3 at home to Rangers yet Marseille are 4th from bottom and turn over Liverpool at Anfield. Bolton go through yet Blackburn go out, it give us a bit of interest in the cold months anyway and advancing a bit in the Carling cup and Europe instead of going out in the first round has to be welcomed but Wyness said it's not really a money spinner.

I hope we can emulate those Bayern Munich and Rapid Vienna games of 85, it's a long time overdue.

Yes, Lescott putting some of those big money big name strikers from wealthier teams to shame eh Tony ;)

Lescott was a bargin if ever there was one,his all round game is brilliant,he was excellent again last night.I can't believe in the change in McFadden either,I'm still not 100% convinced with him yet but I can't fault his current form.Let's hope we can push on from here and more importantly secure European football again for next year.

Yes Paul, Faddy could have had a penalty too in the first half with his tricky footwork, i've seen those given but not much said. Disappointed in Yakubu though, Anichebe showed more workrate in those last 10 minutes than Yak had in the previous 80. I was screaming for Carsley to be brought on at 2-2 to shore up that empty looking midfield as 2-2 would have done me at that point. I think with Arteta, Piinaar and Osman all being forward thinking play makers in midfield, we missed a bit of steel in there. I don't think we'll play that bad again and get away with it but as was said, we've played better this season and lost.

I always love it when Victor comes on,I think most defences can't handle him,I was relieved to see him come on because I know what he's capable of.It's great to see a local lad do so well too,I know he was born in Nigeria but he's been here since he was a baby so he's one of us now.:PDT11

The 11m one (overpriced I know) scored 10 mins into his debut but I agree he isn't a worker by any means.

The other one had a perfectly good penalty dissallowed that thankfully didn't matter in the end, oh and he scored yesterday hurray. That 11m though and a couple bargain basement buys doesn't even add up to half of what another team spent (Johnson was here last season) ;)
