Nice photo. Not so keen on the place. Every time I visit, there's large crowds, broken glass and fires everywhere.

Dunno about that, but London has a lot to offer in terms of photographing its architecture and areas...I mean covent garden would be my first port of call and to an artist its a wealth of composition choice

Sorry GeorgePorgie I was being frivolous. I only ever get to go down there on protests and demonstrations. I'm sure the capital has some amazing architecture. I just haven't had the opportunity to appreciate it.

You should stop mixing it up when you are down there then, Howie. :PDT_Aliboronz_24:
Great photograph, George. It reminds me of the much more colorful but equally evocative scenes of the river and the Houses of Parliament executed by Claude Monet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houses_of_Parliament_series_(Monet)). :handclap:

Have a daughter lives down there so we visit a few times a year, the pace of it makes Liverpool seem quite rural.
Everybody seems to have no time to spare, bet they are all on tablets
Probably the most architecturally pleasing city in England but although London City is small, it's the vastness of it's outlying boroughs.

I might make a case for Chester or else York as a couple of the more architecturally wonderful cities in England. The 2012 Jack the Ripper convention is to be held in York and ace photographer Andrew Firth has taken a number of atmospheric photos of the city as promos for the conference -- see here (http://www.jtrforums.com/showthread.php?t=13548&page=4) and here (http://www.jtrforums.com/showthread.php?t=13548&page=5). Enjoy!
Cheers

I agree on those two of being of worthy architecturally merit as indeed Shrewsbury and Bath but having been to them all and done my usual wander around for hours on end, I still think London but i'm a sucker for all that, I even like Manchester and Leeds though the latter two can't touch Liverpool.

I won't comment on the overgrown mill town down the road, though have to agree that Leeds, whilst lacking the vibrancy of Liverpool, does have some attractive features particularly in the Arcades, Victoria Quarter, and Markets.

I would think Canterbury would be a choice for me as it contains a lot of Medieval architecture. :002:
