The Butterfly’s Ball and The Grasshopper’s Feast is an annual 60s influenced event ran by Liverpool band 'The Wicked Whispers' and Electone Records.
Last years event was a great success, being held at a one of the best shows of the winter in Liverpool as well as the most recognizable 60s influenced event seen in some time.
The event is to be held in Liverpool’s best music venue ‘The Kazimier’ and takes place Saturday 3rd December 2011.
This year we have took it up a notch and have a very special guest indeed in the form of Captain Beefheart’s trusted establishment ‘The Magic Band’. The relationship between Captain Beefheart and Liverpool is notorious marking influence on many great Liverpool acts over the years. The event marks the potential final return for 'The Magic Band' to Merseyside almost 12 months following the death of Don Van Vleit December 2010.
The Wicked Whispers (Organisers/Hosts) will grace the stage once again as well as Carlisle’s ‘The Lucid Dream’. Edgar Jones (The Stairs, The Jones’s, Free Peace) will be on DJ duties, BBC Introducing’s Dave Monks will be comparing and legendary 60s psych influenced visual artist ‘Towyn Roberts’ will be provided the eye candy. As per last years event, ‘Mike Snowden’ has done a wonderful job of designed the poster this year and will be selling prints on the night with a mini exhibition. His work on The Corals last two albums and previous single covers have gained him well earned notoriety.
