Way back at Easter I had nothing to do on the Bank Holiday so I decided to jump on the train to Conwy - I used to go there all the time as a kid, but haven't been for years. That day though, it was easier said than done thanks to Merseyrail :D since the cross-river trains were off and replaced by a bus. It took the best part of an hour to get to Birkenhead. I only made it to Conwy for about half past two, and by then it was p'ing down as it does so well in Wales :disgust: after all that I'd probably have to find something indoors to pass the day...

But then fate had its way and thanks to the delays, the rain went off and the sun came out by the time I'd walked around the town walls, and it turned out to be a cracking spring afternoon with a pure "chillout" of a sunset to match :D

Superb photos Iain. Myself and another member from here went last year and you have brought back some very pleasant memories.
Can I ask you if I could please use these photos ? I have some family and friends who live abroad and would love to see them.

Thanks all :PDT11

When I decided to head home, I checked at the station and had an hour to kill before the next train home, so I went back up to the highest tower on the town walls and sat there just watching the sunset. As I was getting there, a guy was just leaving with a huge rucksack, probably been up in the Snowdonia mountains as I've done many times. An hour passed and I went back to the station. Two hours later I was back in Liverpool, then on the 86 bus home the same guy gets off a couple of stops before me. It's a small world isn't it :unibrow:

Wonderful photographs, Iain! You've given me a hankering to visit Conwy on a future visit back to the old sod.

All the best
