I love the Citroen 4 - the one were the car dances - it's brilliant. I like the music too.

Bet everyone likes this one. :)

Thanks for the link, Lindy...Superb!!!

There was a Mitsubishi L200 ad on TV, back in 2003, which featured the old Jim Croce song, 'You Don't Mess Around With Jim'. I couldn't find out who sang it, I know now, thanks to you. I've just ordered the CD from Amazon.

By the way it's Josh Turner, — no I've never heard of him either, but that's the way my CD collection goes... :slywink:

Set to the stripped-down acoustic soundtrack of José González' "Heartbeats", 250,000 'superballs' come flying, in slow motion, over the brow of a typical street in San Francisco, raining down on anything that gets in their way. And it was done without computer graphics. http://www.bravia-advert.com/

Can u believe the paint is all real? The entire thing, one minute and five

seconds of end footage, was put together over ten days from the 26th of July using a whopping 70,000 litres of paint requiring one tonne trucks to deliver.

The paint was specially made for the job with a unique water-based mixture that allowed it to be easily cleaned up once the water content had evaporated.

With public safety in mind it was also completely non-toxic and safe enough to drink if the film crew ever got too thirsty.

Shooting the paint with enough

firepower to invade Iraq was 413 single, triple and sextuple paint bottle bombs, 323 single, double and triple mortars for launching paint into the air, 330

metres of steel pipe to pump it up the tower in particular, and an almost ridiculous 57 kilometres of copper wire.

Some ads are absolutly f*ng anoying IE: all the Halifax adverts, the Safestyle double glazing(the one where the bald guy shouts at you, boy would you like to give him a slap) and others, but there are some that are worth watching. IE the Boddingtons advert with Melanie Sykes "Eh Tarquin... are yer trolleys on right way round?", and the Honda Acord advert to say the least. Honda (http://media2.thomson-intermedia.com/?02463095E2923F773830F872F5F9E3CA2F59E7717F27AE26A 59CF5547D8AE66B/R) one of my favourits.

Gutted, we don't see many of these now-a days eh? You would almost think real regional accents (not those performed by stage school kids) have all but disappeared.

All I find ads useful for are an opportunity to put the kettle on, otherwise... gimme BBC anyday! But there are some good ones out there.

Saw one this morning. A bloke's in his office, counting down the seconds til 1 o'clock, when he's going to see his girlfriend in a café. The moment it turns "13:00" he legs it out his office, knocking people and paperwork sideways, runs down the street, into the café where his bird's waiting, and sits down... ZAP! He finds himself plonking down into his office chair, at his desk, surrounded by work again. Next day, the same happens. And the day after, and again. The advert's for Vodafone, and the tagline is "why let work take all the good time up in your day".

Live for the moment, work to live don't live to work, and all that :PDT_Aliboronz_24:

Does anyone else think it's strange and out of place that Pele is advertising that 'man' thing on the telly. I mean how ironic that he reached all those finals and now he can't get to a semi?

I like the new one for a cold remedy; it shows the symptoms of a cold as being army battalions and they are attacking the victim. The bit when he chases them off makes me smile.

My fave at the moment is the one for John Lewis where people bring out stages props that make a shadow/silhouette on the back wall - don't know if it's gonna sell any of their products like but still well thought out. Might've suited a new 'Shadows' cd better?

Not many good ones this year...(remember those wh smith ones?).
The Guiness one isn't too bad although they have done better ones before.

I really like the Lloyds TSB ad, which tells the tale of the young couple who meet, fall in love, marry, have children and then granddchildren, all watched from a train .Wonderfully produced, great sound and a very touching tale.I'm swept away every time I see them.
On the other hand, who out there remembers the ads for Pendletons Twicer and the Flatley clothes dryer? Or the Bing Crosby ad for Esso ? Like 'em or loathe 'em,commercials are as much a part of our culture as any thing else.
The measure of their success is our inability to forget them.

Another good one that must have taken ages to make is the guiness one with the domino effect culminating in in a great big pint of the black stuff made out of books.
