Strange goings on

I posted about Ginger Mccain about an hour ago in Breaking News and it didnt appear in Todays Posts...now if that is just the way the forum works then o.k i dont know ,but i enquired of it and received no reply from Mods,,,,even sent p.m.

just looked again at breaking news and guess what Kev has inserted a post on the same subject alongside mine listed at the same time of posting ...it didnt appear until about 50 mins after my post......explanation please Kev old chap:rolleyes:

Just checked Breaking news before logging off,,,Kev has now altered the timing of his post so that it is now listed as posted later than mine.....thank you Kev....still no explanation though !....and no reply to my p,m

come on Kev lad lets be a bit more transparent here..not trying to stir it just dont like the silence....

thanks for replying to the points i made earlier { Kevs replies are posted in The Picture of the Day thread }
Firstly ,i apologise if you were offended by my comment about the Forum mods....Offence was not the intention. the intention was merely to state my frustration at what appeared, at the time as lack of response to my question of what was going on with my Ginger McCain Post in the Breaking News section of the Forum.
I started a new thread in the Breaking News section on the Death of Ginger McCain about 9.am. I mistakenly assumed it would appear in the Todays Post section of the forum, I have since been informed by another member [ Ta ! Oudeis } that this is not the case,and apologise for not knowing the rules on this one, however When it didnt appear,I questioned,in vain, the reason for this, cos you were still logged on at that point...What then frustrated me kev.was a Thread appeared later by you on Ginger McCain in The Breaking News section showing its time of posting as 53 minutes earlier alongside my Thread of 53 minutes earlier. Now your Thread, Kev hadnt appeared anywhere up until that point..it seemed to just appear alongside my one as if it had been there for the last 53 minutes with my one.
Some time after i pointed this out your Thread on Ginger McCain then shifted position and its time of posting was altered to a time later than mine....as is showing in the Breaking News section at present.You then logged off,and i do appreciate you do have other things to do within your day . Ged then appeared to be standing in as moderator....see Picture of the Day Thread...
I therefore asked him what was going on,and i do now concede that i should not have done so within a different thread ,but frustration for some sort of acknowledgement of my queries were mounting....Thanks Ged for trying your best but i realise you had enough going on with dealing with Gerards points.
Kev, you point out there is a correct place on the forum for my previous call for a poll on the recent Picture of the Day issue,...again I must confess i was not aware of such a section,and i suppose that must be a failing on my part ..but i must say it has only been pointed out to me by you today and i have asked you to reply previously within the applicable thread ,and got no response.
Lastly ,as you point out, I Am fairly new here, and can see that i am probably coming across as some sort of newbie upstart so my final apologies go to any of the forum members who see me like that cos thats not the way I Am ,its just that this one got me going :sad:

Off to have my tea now, just wanted to get my view across so as not to hog the Section when people are tring to post tonight:)

Kev is the only moderator on the site. He runs this in his own time for the benefit of members and puts in a lot of work to keep the site as good as it is. Sometimes things don't work absolutely right, but these get fixed quite quickly. You should be thanking Kev, rather than having a go at him, because that's what you're doing in your post above. Please don't take offence to my reply, just saying!

Regarding the breaking news section. It doesn't appear in todays posts/ new posts section because members feedback suggested there was too much too many breaking news threads created. Each new thread is posted automatically via the Liverpool daily post/BBC Liverpool feed. They are not posted by me. So if it seemed a bit strange, it was pure coincidence.

Thanks for your reply burkhilly ,at least it was constructed with more than Martys one sentence . Re-read my post though and you you will see i have apologised were necessary for any comments i made due to ignorance of the rules..and have explained the reason for my comments earlier this morning,

Thanks for the explanation kev of how posts are dealt with...there definitely was a problem ,as i have said and it appears from what you have just said that the problem lay with Liverpool daily post /BBC Liverpool feed........I am happy to leave it at that,now you have given me an explanation, and by the way i do appreciate your efforts in running this forum :handclap: i think its great here...although after today i think there is a few that would wish i would leave pronto :D

I think the success of a forum is down to a good mix of people with different experiences, backgrounds, a good melting pot of views keeps discussions lively. As long as we mind our manners, we're all entitled to post as we wish.
