United to probe Liverpool over Heinze transfer

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Manchester United are investigating Liverpool over the Anfield outfit's conduct in the Gabriel Heinze affair.

Heinze has now left Old Trafford for Real Madrid - but only after a protracted attempt to join Liverpool, which saw the Argentina defender take his case to the Premier League this week.

I'm sorry but shouldn't it be the other way around, that Liverpool should be able to question why Manchester United could block a player's legitimate request to join another club? Does this all go down to Sir Alex's insecurity? Why should the transfer of Heinze, a role player at best (in my opinion), threaten Ferguson?

And on another front, it looks to me as if Sir Alex's problem is not so much in the full back department but in filling the need for a centre forward. Tevez is a midfielder rather than a centre forward and it appears to me that with wonder boy Wayne Rooney out of action they have no one to fill that role. I had heard that Sir Alex was seeking to bring in Anelka. Certainly anyone who could put the ball in the net would be wonderful to sign at this point. . .

Ferguson has been involved in more taps than a plumber. Cheeky get he is.
