My second visit to the roof of the North West's tallest building, but this time in better weather. The skies and clouds were amazing, and evening sun was perfect.

I'm misquoting somebody, but these great photos remind me of somebody who said: "The views from the Beetham Tower are great, because it is the one place where you can't see the Beetham Tower."

The views would be better in Liverpool.

But the views aren't in Liverpool. Life would get boring if every picture you looked at you just thought 'Yeah, but it would look better in Liverpool...'. Or maybe not? Maybe you see everything as a comparison to Liverpool? I don't, I try and see the best parts of everywhere. I've spent many happy hours admiring Liverpool's skyline (and will probably spend many more here), but right now I'm taking a look at some other cities. If there's one thing I've always needed in life, it's variation.
I like it :PDT_Piratz_26:
From some angles it doesn't look right to me, especially coming into Manchester from Liverpool direction - it looks too big for its surrounding, sticking up on its own.
But then from the other side, say from Deansgate, I think it looks great. I'd not been to Manchester for years and years til recently and some bits of it now are looking neat. Words that came to mind were bold, daring, striking. Hopefully we can say the same about Liverpool in a couple of years ... maybe not, due to all the building restrictions we've had.
Architecturally its nothing bold, not like the proposed shang hi tower or some of the other proposed high rise buildings. *lol* you only have to look at the fact that Beethams office is here in Liverpool. I think Beetham West wins hands down for its profile, its sleek, and if it gets its beacons on the top and some nice lighting would look spectacular. Manchester is starting to look very hemmed in, there are a few nicely designed buildings in Manchester, I like the revamped piccadilly station and some of the other glass buildings.

These are amazing photos.
I've been putting together a Beetham Tower website (http://www.beethamtower.org/manchester/beetham-tower-manchester.html) which is all about the Beetham Tower in Manchester and I didn't even know it was possible to get to the top of the tower! Great work guys!
Has anyone got any video from the top of the tower?

I love high quality modern architecture. Beethem Tower (Beetham is a Liverpool company) is only big, nothing else.
Saying that, if some other tall buildings were around it, it may come to life.

I saw the Beetham Tower from the castle in Runcorn the other day...it was strange because I could also see the tower-blocks of Birkenhead when looking in the other direction.
