Does anyone have a photo of the old Liverpool Dental Hospital, on, if memory serves, London Rd, or maybe Prescot St.? I know it was standing in 1959 and I think it was demolished in the sixties. A dark walk-up building of about 5 storeys. The dreaded orthodontics on the third(?) floor.
Across the street was a postwar concrete building that looked like a giant lecture theatre or something.

It was on Pembroke Place east of Daulby St.Thanks, I remember walking there so many times from Lime Street Station in the days of steam trains. As an 11 year-old it was a bit of an adventure. In the declining days of steam British Railways had started using on local services "named" steam locos displaced from express work (by diesels).
And the steam trains stopped at every gatepost lumbering slowly slowly away it seemed - Acton Bridge, Runcorn, Ditton Junction, Allerton, West Allerton, Mossley Hill, Sefton Park, Wavertree, Edge Hill and finally Lime Street.

It is still there, I just about remember the old building. There was a great little pub perched on the corner of Daulby Street and Pembroke Place, I went in there a couple of times.

The replacement building is still there.
The 1910 building was demolished to make way for it.
