Now finished and in use for special functions, this monastery was at one point derelict and a complete mess. Thankfully it has been tastefully restored, and some of the derelict features have been preserved as a reminder of that time in the building's history. Photos of my unofficial visit in 2006 when the site was in a much worse condition can be found here (http://www.level-two.co.uk/report.php?locname=gorton).

Thanks to the friends of the monastery for kindly granting access.
