Admittedly Holloways was the primary reason I went down, but had heard some stuff by MajorMajor beforehand, so wanted to catch them too.

The final battle

Throughout January 2007, Barfly has seen the Rock Star Wars battles take place with a staggering force!

The saga ran over 9 episodes featuring rock, indie and acoustic battles, and 11 of the original 32 acts have gone through to compete in the final battle on Friday 26th January.

The Final

The final battle commences at 7pm on Friday 26th January. Each genre battle will take place on one of the three planets in the Barfly solar system otherwise known as the Bar, the Loft and the Theatre. The battle will take place on each of the three different planets and will run concurrently throughout the evening.

I thought Straight Out of Moscow should have won their heat if nothing else for their lack of taking a battle of the bands seriously (stopping playing songs to go dance with the audience, deciding to write new material in the middle of their set etc.) but perhaps I'm a bit sulky about battle of the bands in general - we won a heat at the the Barfly last year and then they cancelled the event...

Liverpool bands have always looked after each other,you want to try and get involved with a few of the lads for the current scene and see where it gets you.

we played Barrow last night as the 1st leg of a mini tour, which was suprisingly great, were then playing bar fresa in town on tuesday and retro bar in manchester on wednesday as part of the mini tour.
