I have only been using my computer since January and it's still early days as the course I took was for
beginners.
I have some old photo's that I would like to share with Yo, but being a bit of a dunce(where my laptop is
concerned), I do not know how I would do this.
My printer is able to scan, print and copy, but still learning this as well.
Could anybody give me idiot proof instructions on how to transfer my old photo's to my computer then on
to Yoliverpool, I would be very grateful.

Thanks:question:

Should you be stuck for something to do till one of our experts tips-up you could check the instructions for your scanner/printer and begin up-loading your pictures to your lap-top ready to share. :)

...you may, for instance, need to install programmes from the CD that came with the printer.

Oudeis is right - first step is to make sure the printer drivers and software is installed - the programs you need to scan should be part of that, and they usually run automatically when you open the scanner lid and place the photos, if not press the 'scan' button on the scanner. Do a 'quick scan' first, then see if youre happy with that before the full scan, then save to the computer when finished (probably best to save as jpg format).

whn you have a few saved, reply to a thread here, and click the 'Go advanced' button underneath, then select the 'manage attachments' button, and then select and upload your photos via the box that pops up.

know thats a sort of basic description, but see if it helps. Good luck!

Uploading to Flickr ( or similar site) then posting the URL here is another option.

Flickr is free to use unless you decide to upgrade to the Premier account .
