Hi all, I'm researching the Macgowan family tree and Rev. James Macgowan was m: in St. Johns Old Haymarket and all his children were Chr: in the Oldham Street Presbyterian, they left Liverpool for South Australia in 1838. A Rev. James Macgowan is also mentioned in the book titled "Tales of Liverpool: Murder, Mayhem & Mystery" by Richard Whittington-Egan’s (1985), pp 15 to 19 and apparently he was hording corpses in his basement in 1820. I can buy the book on line but I won’t bother if they are not the same person. Is it at all possible for someone to check it out for me please?

Ged, does the entry in the book give any further information on the school;name, address? That is not covered by the links I gave. :)
I will check it out later. The book covers the matter of the corpses, not sure about a school being mentioned but it's a long time since I read it.

Hi macro52
I have the Whittington-Egan book but as you are, I would be unsure whether it is the same man.
All the best
Chris
