No doubts about the best building. The only thing I can say about everything else is " They're 'avin' a larf"
Hope reports of " no costs" to the community are true. Who is paying for it? Who is gaining from it?
Ta, again gregs dad,
your pics are bosso as always,

Paid for both with money left over from 2008 and with European Community assistance... What would we do without them?!?!
Worth every penny, whatever it all cost, IMO! And the Macula Spectacular was the most amazingly imaginative display we've seen since La Machine...
Correct John Doh - just as reported on Radio Merseyside this week. Another million+ spent into the local community tonight. Town is always chocker on a saturday night but I noticed it being extremely more busy tonight. No time for negativity and perceiving it's 'costing them' - did anyone notice their taxes going up a penny over the last week since these great showcase events and it's not over yet. It's not every day the largest National Museum built in more than a century or the Royal Liver Buildings is 100 years old.
By all accounts here are a few more local anniversaries.
Runcorn Bridge 50 years old.
Ron Yeats bought for Liverpool by Bill Shankly 50 years ago yesterday.
Knowsley Safari Park 40 years old.
St. Johns Tower 40 years old.

Ged, whats all the reasoning over money for.. ?
Nobody...thats me mate, and I think Chas as well..
is complaining about a museum being built there..
Bring it on....fantastic, more money through tourism etc for Liverpool..
I'm complaining about the style and shape of the ugly b***** thing..
I've said this earlier.. and I'm saying it for the last time..
we had a chance to build something decent, and it got f***** up..
FFS.. LETS HAVE IT RIGHT..
A world heritage site is ruined by that black shiny thing next to it..
End of...
Thanking thee..
Gerard.
Gerard. It's Chas that keeps bringing the money into it - usually just a post or a few before I explain it away. (see post No.2 - then post No 5 before I even mention money)
I thank thee too. ;)

I got that Ged on me Vid... the 1st 5 minutes or so of the light show..
I had a great spec... I stopped though as I wanted to get photos...
I've got enough footage though to work into a little vid thing I plan doing..
It was simply unbelievable.. the noise was coming from everywhere..
Imagine a Pink Floyd show only ten times better... absolutely amazing..
Off up.. getting a bit late..
speak soon mate..
Gerard.

I attended the light show last night, it was fantastic. Carl Davies conducted the Phil playing Beatle songs, and then the whole history of Liverpool was projected onto the Liver in a briliant audio/ visual feast. It's a pity it's only on for 3 nights, get down to see it tonight if you can.
Not a c*** standard at all Steve, they're very good. You keep snapping away and posting them up, they're all appreciated mate. :PDT11

How about this? A bit underexposed, perhaps - the camera didn't entirely capture the intensity and drama of the experience...... But there's another chance to catch it live tonight of course...

TONIGHT'S PROGRAMME :
(Dunno what this is all about)
6ix Toys in Concert, 21.30, Main Stage Pier Head
Just back from China, 6ix Toys return home to perform a concert incorporating their unique blend of rock, funk, soul, gypsy jazz and electronic sounds. This homecoming concert will also feature ‘No Drama’ the Liverpool Anthem created with the help of Sir Paul McCartney to promote Liverpool at World Expo in Shanghai in 2010.
BUT tonight is the last chance to see the
The Macula Spectacular, 22.15, at the Pier Head.
The Royal Liver Building is the screen on which the story of Liverpool is told, using cutting edge digital projection. Don't miss it - it's really quite stunning!
If you can't get there though, you can watch it on the post above.

I saw it on Saturday, it was stunning. The atmosphere was amazing, watching the sun sink behind Bidston Hill watching the golden light shimmer accross the Mersey to the tunes of the Philharmonic.
