I'd only just got in but caught the last quarter of an hour. The Malayan Emergency was yet another depressing episode in our history which had its roots in colonial insurgency. Couldn't help but think about the current situation in Iraq.

Yes i watched it again last pm not as good as last week all those headless bandits was terrible very inhuman cruel.. Hope next week is better.

There's a website which goes with this series (http://www.channel4.com/empire) which helps you trace and tell your family story. There are a number of fascinating stories there involving Liverpool but room for plenty more. It's a bit light on stories involving people coming from Ireland so hopefully some members of this community interested in family history and with Irish roots can help put those stories on the map.:snf (41):
