Last week I was invited for a barbie at my son's for my birthday, well we were eating and suddenly my son said to his son " you wait till your mothers gets home" well I burst out laughing at hearing that it took me back, then my son started laughing as his realised what he said and why I was laughing poor zac must have though my dad's & grand dad has gone cuckoo:unibrow::handclap: has/does this happen to you?

Yes, definitely, certain expressions will remind me of sayings that my parents or grandparents used. Ah, memories!

Marty this might sound corny but I wish I was 1/2 the man my dad was, he could tackle and do do any job bricklaying, carpenter, painting he showed me once p-------- off your useless ( he was taken on as a 14 year old can-lad and a long years time later took another 14 year old can-lad who complained to him how come I'm doing twice as much work as the other boys the reason, they expect me to go easy on you cause your my son and I'm not going to give them the satisfaction I lasted 4 weeks then I got the sack) my son andrew last saw my dad when he was 2 in 1981 and seemed to have gone the same way as my dad with his hands seemed to have passed down to him in sprit he has sais my many tim,es I was going to do it this way but I ended up doing it this way and it's great

My mum used to sing a line from a song to me which was...

Timing of this thread.
On Monday coming it is 5 years since my dad passed away. I miss him calling me ' Soft Lad '
He used to tell me and my brothers that if he caught us fighting each other he would put us all in a boxing ring. I never understood that one?
When he was drunk he would sing ' Working Class Hero '
