...is a waste of space, sorry. It was unfortunate that I watched a bit of the programme of her and David B moving to LA.

After watching it and thinking before hand, that she gets a rough ride in the media, this confirmed everything I suspected :PDT_Xtremez_42:.

How on earth anyone can make a career out of just being photographed blah blah blah is beyond me.

She looks anorexic.

Certainly does look anorexic, plus her boob job makes her look top heavy.
It isn't her people are interested in, it is David,"golden balls", Beckham.
What annoys me is the tribe of hangers on that go round with her.
Be honest do you really think it is her money she spends ?. Just think in
a few years David will be over the hill as far as football is concerned, which
to my own mind is why he is in America to make loadsa money..

Hi Steve and Kev

Actually isn't part of the hooplah because she is a celebrity as well? There wouldn't be the same media circus if she wasn't somebody too.

Celebrity?, part of a failed singing group who were never any good. If she wasn't married to Beckham she would have been forgotten years ago.

Well maybe. But she has a name. Paris Hilton is a nobody too... also so was Anna Nicole Smith but that doesn't stop the media going gaga over them.

I dont think you can say "failed" singing group !

I feel she would still be in the spot light without David, she knows exactly what she wants - she goes out and takes it, good for her :handclap:

And i also liked the way she was taking the p**s out of the people who sl*g her off,

Just my opinion...........:)

That's true Chris, I never joined the celebrity worshipers myself, I just can't understand the attraction. The whole hype has created a generation who have no other ambition but to be an uneducated much photographed celebrity.

She's absolutely pointless, see that pic of her arriving, holding her hand up in the air in a Statue of Liberty pose. Can't stand the woman

As Chris says, " she is a celeb in her own right", true, a minor one part of
a failed disbanded group. How many real celebs carry on like she does ?, don't
mean people like Paris Hilton. As has been rightly said, without Beckham, she
would be well feorgoton by now... Next Tuesday on TV it is David,s turn

Why are you so anti American?, I know you have never been here so your prejudices must be only from hearsay.

Max
07-22-2007, 05:47 PM
Because I am a Muslim.

I just find how some of the mentality and how spoilt they act on TV disgusting and overrated.

My brothers been to San Diego and the place never seems worthy to go to other than fast food places, zoos and beaches.

I don't want to visit places like Casinos or the worlds biggest toilet either.

You need to grow up Max and look at the whole picture. There are good and bad everywhere. Nothing disgusts me more than the rivers of puke and trashed take away food that I see every time I go out in town when I visit Liverpool, this doesn't make me hate Liverpool or its people in general. Just the people who cause the problems.
I am fed up with ignorant people generalizing about America. It has probably got the most varied environments of any country in the world. I chose to live in the place I live because it is a small town in a farming community. The crime rate is very low, to the south is agricultural land and to the north are rolling hills and forests, tell me how your comments apply to my area.
BTW What has being a Muslim got to do with hating America. A lot of Americans are Muslims.

Hi Shy and Max

I agree with you, Shy, that there is good and bad in all places, and certainly when I am asked about whether I would prefer to live Britain or the United States, I have to say there is a lot I like and I don't like in both places.

I was at Artscape in Baltimore on Friday reading poems that I have written for the Liverpool 800 project, and a number of them are about graffiti, vandalism, and violence in present-day Liverpool. I read the icLiverpool site daily and I have to say that there is much that disgusts me about what is happening in Liverpool right now. That doesn't mean that I don't feel pride in my home city, just that I hope for better for the future.

Yes, Max, you can slate the United States for everything that is wrong in the world, but I think you need to need to look at what is happening around you in Liverpool and, if you are willing to do so, work to make it a better place and what it should be.

All my best

Chris

Nothing to do with growing up, I consider myself more grown up than most people. Alot of the people here are noisey, suspicious and just plain retarded even worse when drunk.

Some are like eee ya laaa I was only askinnnn for example.

Most of not all of America need to grow up when they don't care about anything outside of America or what goes on In the rest of the world. They moan crap like high petrol prices when It's cheaper there than most of the world.

The Muslim thing was a joke, I don't like religion.

I said In the 10 good and bad things about Liverpool what I find bad about Liverpool Chris and Shy so I'm aware of what goes on around here. Like the student problem or general peoples mentality like In my first paragraph.

I don't think my post applied to America's landscape or your area. Places like the grand canyon for example look wonderful but other than landscape and some buildings/architecture, America doesn't have much tourist places that look Interesting and look cheesy. Theirs Disneyland, fast food diners Casino's and theme parks all over the world.

I wouldn't NY or somewhere east though, somewhere similarly cultured to Liverpool.

Hi Max

Certainly there are cheesy and tawdry things in the United States as well as elsewhere in the world. The Americanisation of England is something that I regret, and my wife Donna (US-born) and I wince when we see KFC and McDonald's in England just as in the U.S. I have a story about my uncle from Poole, Dorset, who recently died, that we drove him up to Niagara Falls, some 400 miles from here, and he said he preferred Loch Raven, a scenic reservoir just north of Baltimore, within striking distance any time and saving the hours-long journey and aggravation to the Falls! By the way while the Canadian falls are worth seeing, the hill above Niagara Falls on the Canadian side is as full of honky tonk as Blackpool so there as anywhere you have to pick and choose what you like.

All the best

Chris

I agree about Mc Donalds and KFC and how England has been Americanised.

It gets on my nerves how my brother and dad constantly talk about the States too about how they want to go to Las Vegas and keep asking do I want to go and I say no.

I'm more Into going to places like around Europe or Asia and Canada, just look more appealing and not ego feeding like some people do with talking about the states.

KFC, That's a place I never use over here. The first one I saw was in Walton Rd. Liverpool, they have been there since about 1965, I wonder if they are still there. They had really good food, better than any I tried in KFC here. There was one in Aigburth Rd. too but it didn't seem as good, these were company owned stores, not franchises which is probably the reason they were better.
The life story of the Colonel is interesting, he was a nut case.

OH, about David and Victoria Beckham. IT's still obscure to me what there doing in the U.S. I read Mr. Beckham was there to promote European Football, witch we call Soccer. But last I heard American Football was still popular there. And here it's still mostly bout Hockey if I may make a few generalisations for the sake of argument. But it's true that, even here, European Football is becoming more popular, at the demise of Baseball here. Any opinions on the said Beckham Mission or do you all feel it's about publicity and money?
