Please sign the petition and try to overturn the work of petty minded beaurocrats....
www.petitiononline.co.uk/petition/save-leisure-lakes-motocross-facility/2851
Please show your support in helping save our motocross facility at Leisure Lakes, Mere Brow, Lancashire.
This facility has been here for over 10 years and was granted planning permission in 2009 only for the council to challenge the planning inspectorates decision and overturn the decision only for a second public enquiry in which the planning inspectorate gave a different decision to the previous public enquiry, this decision was published 4th May 2011 even though on the 21st March 2011 Leisure Lakes MX Ltd and the council agreed conditions of operation which has been agreed and signed by the district judge in court.
please show your support to save this facility that caters for all ages, gender, and ability of rider to carry out their enjoyment in a safe and controlled environment

Imagine the local swimming pool where your child learnt to swim or your local football pitch that your kids team played on.
Imagine if these things were being taken away from your community. How would you feel.
Leisure Lakes is my local Motocross track, my children have all learnt to ride bikes there. My local track is 30 miles away but yes it is worth the drive and trouble to watch my kids enjoy their sport.
Even if you have no interest in Motocross, understand that we are going to loose a valuable and safe facility for our kids to ride.
Please sign the petition and tell your mates to aswell.

Can't say I'm a fan of hearing motor bike engines roaring and this is what the ban is about ie quality of life in a residential area.
Sorry you don't get my vote, smimming pools don't make a noise and footie pitchs are basically only used at the weekends and are mainly in parks where noise cannot be heard residentialy.

Fair enough George, not sure whether you have any illegal use of dirt bikes where you live, if you have it will get worse if the track closes down, nearest house is 3/4of a mile away, not really a residential area. Coincidentaly the person making the biggest complaint tried to by the track to use for himself before the present owner took it on.
Scientific evidence has proved that the noise from the track is not a nuisance as verified buy the High Court in London.
It takes all sorts I guess, live and let live I say.
As for football, late in the evening thats all I hear from the Local David Lloyd center, maybe I should make a complaint as I can't stand the sound of grown men shouting and cursing over a stupid game of football, I also find the smell of Chlorine coming from the out door pool a nuisance when I am walking the dog.

3/4of a mile away, not really a residential area.
It is a residential area, the fact that people have bought houses in that area makes it a residential area.
And from what I can see there is also 3 large Caravan parks in the vicinity, maybe this is where the direct opposition is coming from?.

George the person who owns the caravan park owns the track and he advertises this fact as part of the appeal of the site.
They used to have country and western shoutouts at the site on a saturday afternoon but that was banned because of noise???
There are no complaints about the jet skis using the Lake and they are as noisy if not more so and it goes on till 9.00pm in the evening in the summer and starts at 9.00am. The track opens at 10.30am and closes by 4.00pm.
George I understand you do not agree with mx tracks but you do not understand the sport and its benefits to young people and families.
I never asked for your comments on this thread just for your support. If you are not willing to give support please stay away from this thread and keep it on topic.
Please help Leisure lakes track

An aerial view of the track/residential area.
The track is located above the large jet ski lake on the left hand side.
