21cm x 14cm acrylic on board.

I pass the old antique shop most days but today the three primaries of red, yellow and blue just seemed to stand out. I have some Liverpool paintings, printed onto acrylic in a group show at the Gallery by Cain’s brewery. It starts on Friday 13th May, the web says we’re not on until the week after but I’ve been assured it's wrong.

Do you use a retarder in your Acrylics,Steve?

If so how long does it take before the Acrylics dry with it added?

Hi George,

I dont use a retarder so they dry fairly fast, but I dont mind that too much as I work quite fast and can always overpaint areas that are dry. I have used one in the past but it made the paint a bit stodgy. It did make the drying time longer by about an hour or so, depending on the colour. If I want to take longer so I can play around with the painting, I usually go for oils.
