Lightbulb Live music @ Ronnies, Southport

Ronnies now hosts Southport's newest weekly live music event. Please don't be put off by the fact it's a Bistro as well as a Bar, as we're not going to be doing anything in half measures just for the sake of somebody eating their peppered steak... Though I implore you to try a combination of both sound and food. It might be nice.

We will be hosting live music of all styles and sorts, from the dirtiest cacophonies of sludge metal, all the way to the cleanest tones of slinky jazz. The event will be every Monday night, with the doors of the venue open from lunch time, and music starting at 9pm, and best yet, it is completely free.

I previously ran a very successful night in Chorley, at Harrys Bar for about 2 years now, but due to complications and needless bureaucracy, it's life was cut short and bands from all over the country, and even some parts of the world including France, Norway and the USA, were left with one less venue to play!

I have set up a MySpace page for the event, so that people can find a bit more info about the venue (I've effectively paraphrased the blurb here anyway), and it will include links to bands own pages, so that you can check out their music before they perform at the venue.

Thank you for your time, I hope to see your beautiful faces one day.

Sure. I also have the 20th, but I'm trying to fill it, so if you can get back to me quickly, I'll be able to hold it for you.

i presume you have headlining acts for all of the gigs thus far? Can i just ask a few questions about the venue?

* What kind of audience is it?
* How big is the venue
* What is the payment for the gig?

With it just starting up, I couldn't exactly say what the audience is going to be, I'm aiming it at music-lovers, and as such I'll be promoting it in those channels.

From the few somewhat sporadic gigs I've put on there over the past few months, the general feedback I get is that it's "intimate". Not very big, but not small by any means.

As for payment, I could probably scrape together some petrol money if you needed that, but at the moment, with it being such a new thing, I can't promise a lot. Though, we all do it for the love, right!
