Eight of us went to the lakeside zoo at Dalton in furness during the easter, a cracking day out as some of the animals are left free to roam around you. There are warnings not to touch them as some bite but few (including us) were taking notice of it.

I went last year....I had complimentry tickets because the last time I went I ended up in the countess of chester hospital because Lauren spilt her head open

we went to the zoo yesterday, it was brilliant. Chimps and the Orang Utan were in entertaining mood!
............Didn't there used to be sea lions?

Just looked it up, the sea lions left a couple of years ago. The giant otters replaced them

Thanks Scouse Smurf...........it's been a while since we were last there but the sea lions were always our first stop, pity they've gone.
.........the main entrance has changed, seems to be what was once the far end of the zoo. They've certainly spent a lot of money, it's great.:)

Not a great lover of zoos ,might have been a need years ago before TV and the internet for education, but no need for them now.

We had a great time, it's worth a trip just to see the kid's faces when they see the animals...........BRILLIANT! don't get that from TV or Internet!
