LCPT had buses & trams. The buses number system from the fifties (if i remember correctly) comprised the make of bus, & number ie A for AEC, L for Leyland, D for Daimler, C for Crossley .

Thank's for that Merseywall, so now how about the trams? were the #'s in any particular sequence? I do remember very vecular ( sorry not a good speller) mum & dad saying right next week we are going to NEW BRIGHTON well as kids that an adventure way back in then but it's not straight there we have to change a couple of times? bus, tram, ferry, bus, then after a great day we did it vice-versa, Mum & Dad was happy they had given us a good day out and didn't cost them a fortune ( got the train /tram rides for free & a new bucket and spade in new brighton) do remember school holiday's? spud picking & going for rides on our bike our kids said what for? to have money of your own, yea so how much did you get around 1 pound a week what's that in Dollars ( we still had pound's then over here your mam said) but about $3 rip off kids hey
